Frequently Asked Questions
What happens after I send the form?
A person on the team reads your answers and replies by email. The reply proposes the next step and lists the documents your company type needs. Documents are requested then, not on this page.
Do I have to upload documents now?
No. The form takes no files. Identity and company documents are requested after the first reply, through a secure link, so you can send the form with only the facts about your plan.
Why do you ask me to confirm the source of funds?
Banks and notaries are obliged entities under the anti-money-laundering rules, and the beneficial owners of a company are identified and reported. The confirmation tells us the funds are lawful and that documents follow on request.
Do I need to live in Belgium to start?
The Companies and Associations Code sets no residence requirement for directors or shareholders. A non-EU founder who will work as self-employed in Belgium in principle needs a professional card. Say where you live in the form and we describe what applies.
I am not sure which company form I need. Can I still send the form?
Yes. Choose "Not sure yet". The forms differ in founders and formalities: one founder for a BV/SRL or NV/SA, three for a cooperative, two for a partnership. We describe the statute and do not recommend a form for you.
